Writing Notebook

Descansos are the symbols that mark a death. Right there, right on that spot, someone's journey in life halted unexpectedly. Something happened there that altered that person's life and the lives of other persons forever. You can make Descansos by taking a look at your life in your visual journal and making a time-line of your life. Mark the places where your life changed, starting from infancy and then when you have finished look at your time-line and write an extended piece. When Jillian Leslie wrote I Hate Turning 50 she made descansos and underwent a transformative Writes of Passage. Share her journey and consider recording your own.

Welcome to my new writing notebook. Beginning today is very much like facing the crisp fresh pages of a new notebook. As always I am filled with hope and optimism, infused with a sense of the possibilities and potentialities that can be realised within these pages. You will note that the onion theme has taken over my web site. I am delighted that the humble onion should be honoured here for it is an essential ingredient as we cook up ideas.

This notebook replaces my original writing notebook, currently lying on a cyber shelf in Soul Food and substitutes for my old Writing Directory. The directory used to provide links to other sites around the web but now these links will be located here. Make it a habit to check out this notebook and my Peeling The Onion pad for fresh ideas and new directions. Remember it is always a good idea to visit my on-line journal because I am always discussing my views on the Art of Writing in there.

Have you found the Dig Tree yet? This is the perfect way to learn about writing and Australian History at the same time.
